The film Hero marks Shriya's third Malayalam film after Mammootty Prithviraj duo's Pokkiri Raja and Mohanlal's Casanova. Shriya will be playing opposite Prithviraj, who plays the male lead. Srikanth is taking up an important character in the film. Thalaivasal Vijay and Nedumudi Venu are also included to play prominent roles.

Directed by Deepan, the movie is written by Vinod Guruvayur. Camera is handled by Bharani K. Dharan and Music is by Gopi Sundar. Prithviraj and Srikanth have already acted together with the Tamil flick Kana Kandaen, which was ace director K V Anand's debut movie.

Tamil actor Srikanth would also be seen in a key role in the film. Last time, we saw Srikanth and Prithviraj together were in K.V. Anand's debut directorial Kana Kanden, which happened to be a new-fangled thriller. They had also worked together in Tamil movie Kutrappirivu.
