The seventh cut-off list announced by Delhi University on Monday brought little hope for students belonging to the general category as only a few colleges re-opened admissions for some select courses.

However, the cut-offs for students belonging to the Other Backward Classes have been lowered in most colleges following a directive by the Union Human Resource Development Ministry asking the University to give more time for admission to OBC seats.

For instance Dyal Singh College which had earlier closed admissions for courses such as English (Honours) and History (Honours) has announced fresh cut-offs at 83.5 per cent and 71 per cent for the two courses respectively. Similarly, Shyam Lal College (Evening) which had closed the admissions for its B. Com course in the sixth cut-off list has announced a cut-off of 78 per cent for the same course.

In the OBC category, almost all the colleges have reduced the cut-offs. Deshbandhu has revised the cut-off from 68 per cent (sixth list) to 65 per cent for its Economics (Honours) course.

The eligible students are expected to complete the admission formalities over the next two days.

According to a Delhi University official, many of the colleges will announce one more list after this.
