1) Viswaroopam – This title song is the one telecasted with the trailers. Suraj jagan has rendered it powerfully conveying an attitude which borders on arrogance. This is a song for the masses. “Viswaroopam” is the refrain throught the song.

“Yaarukkum adimai ille..Ivan yaarukum arasan illai” pretty much sums up the intense feel of the song.

This song relies on its heavy drums and guitar to convey the mood – haunting/creating a suspense. In short, the song creates an image of Kamal Hassan as a determined man marching ahead on a mission.

2) Thuppaki- The song begins with peppy rhythym beats like most other english songs – Asif Ali Beg’s english lines are foot tapping – but don’t create a lasting impression. Enter the tamil lyrics and that’s when you get interested in the song. Benny dayal and Kamal Hassan have rendered them very well. An ‘anytime’ song for the masses.

3) Unnai Kaanadhu Naan – This classical song penned by Kamal Hassan is sure to be on your playlist. The track opens with Kamal’s kathak jathi portion followed by a Harmonium tune which sets up Shankar’s beautiful opening. Shankar carries the whole song with clear and smooth rendering. His voice only adds to the songs’s beauty. This song might remind of Mukhundha Mukundha from Dasavatharam.

4) Anu Vidhaitha boomiyile – This soothing song by Nikhil Souza ( similar to “Anbe Sivam”) with lyrics by Kamal begins with English lyrics which tug your heart. It brings out all the emotion in you. “I wanna be there some there” – This soft voice will keep ringing in your mind long after the song has stopped playing. It creates a Lonely yet re-assuring feel – This track is my favourite from the album.

5) Viswaroopam remix – This party number is nowhere close to what the title song does to you. The title track has been fitted with electronic beats in bits and pieces disrupting the overall feel. A better option would have been to produce an instrumental reprise of the title song.
